once again proved why he’s one of the most dominant interior forces in Virginia prep basketball. The versatile big finished with 27 points, 15 rebounds, and 2 steals, controlling the paint on both ends.
Gray’s ability to seal deep, finish through contact, and clean the glass tilted the game in St. Chris’ favor when it mattered most. But what stood out wasn’t just the numbers — it was his composure. In a championship setting, he embraced the physicality and made winning plays late.
When the game tightened in the fourth quarter, St. Chris went inside. And Gray delivered. Darius also won the Virginia Prep League player of the year for the 2nd straight year.

owned the paint.
Gray had his fingerprints all over this one. He disrupted Woodberry’s offensive rhythm with his presence inside. He controlled the glass on both ends. He created extra possessions that proved costly. Offensively, he was efficient and physical. He scored at the rim and attacked defenders off the bounce. His fluidity for his size was surprising.
What may have been most impressive was his playmaking. Gray repeatedly found shooters on the weak side, zipping cross-court passes that led to clean looks. His court vision and willingness to create for others add another dimension to his game.
He finished with 20 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 assists — a dominant all-around performance.

was steady and physical all night.
Gray posted another double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, using his strength and presence to control the glass. He carved out space, finished around the rim, and made Collegiate pay on second-chance opportunities.
His physicality shifted possessions and wore down defenders. He’s a pivotal piece for the Saints and a major reason they continue to find success against quality opponents.

The prestigious football recruit had himself a dominating performance with St. Christopher’s this Sunday on the hardwood. Darius was a force on both ends of the ball, getting to the basket all game long while defending and rebounding hard. He had a personal battle with the high-level Blue Ridge team. Scored the ball from the arc early which forced the defense to respect his shot and defend closer. Darius attacked this slight adjustment for the rest of the game, abusing the defense with quickness on the perimeter and his strength at the basket. Really liked how he operated from the post, always watching the help defenders as he backed down his defender. If the help came he made the right read for the open shot. With no help defense, Darius could score efficiently from the post or by shooting around the defense and getting a layup opportunity. Tough cover all game for Blue Ridge.
