Darian Randolph Darian Randolph 6'5" | SF Sumter | 2030 SC rounds out the Team 4 Evaluations. He is the second player who earned himself a spot in the conversation for the Top 10 of the 2030 Rankings debut next March, doing so on the back of defensive playmaking and offensive flashes. Randolph always makes his presence felt around the rim with his elite length and high motor, but his skill was on display more than I had seen in past instances, which has me much higher on him than I was going into the weekend.

Excellent size and versatility at 6’5 which he utilized at a high level. There was not a play on defense where he wasn’t talking or communicating non-verbally with teammates to ensure they were in position to get stops. The motor runs very high, which is evident by the number of times you saw him diving on the floor for loose balls or fighting through screens to stay connected to the ball handler. Not only was he effective defending the half court, but he also picked players up 94 feet and had no issue staying in front of smaller and quicker guards. That type of intensity mixed with the size and IQ is the reason why Darien was a defensive standout during the event.

The most intriguing player I evaluated at the Freshman Showcase on Sunday was Darian Randolph Darian Randolph 6'5" | SF Sumter | 2030 SC . This wasn’t the first time I’ve seen Randolph in person, but it certainly provided the best feel I’ve gotten for him yet. He was extremely impactful with his length as a rim-protector, on both sides of the glass, and in passing lanes, but he also showed flashes of a handle that could lead to an extremely high ceiling. That floor, combined with the long-term potential if his jumper improves, make him a prospect you will want to remember.

Randolph is the second of two Sumter Gamecocks who make this list. He is listed at 6’5″ as a rising 8th-Grader, and that alone is something that earns a watch. He showed some flashes handling the ball and getting out in transition, but right now Randolph will be most impactful around the rim until he polishes the rest of his game. He hauled in 10 rebounds in a game Saturday and had a block in each game I watched this weekend. It will be interesting to see how Darian improves his game before the start of the high school season in November.
