About Carmello
Expert Analysis
Andrew Baxley | Prep Hoops Scout
It took him a little bit of time to find his role with a new team, but once he did, Carmello was an important player for the Gamecocks. He is also one they are very high on going forward, particularly with a lot of their depth returning next year. Burch is confident and creative in attacking the rim, plus he has a clean jumper off the catch from the mid-range and behind the arc.

Carmello was a late addition to the Sumter Roster after transferring in from North Central, where he averaged 11 PPG and 8 RPG as a freshman last season. He hit the ground running with a few big games in the non-region slate, but he still has some untapped potential. Burch plays bigger than his listed size because he works hard around the rim on both ends of the floor. He has some decent bounce and touch when playing in close, but once he develops a consistent ability to create his own looks outside of the paint, he will be a very good player for the Gamecocks.
