About Chace

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my game as being a smart decision maker, great shooter and ball handler. I also am a good passer with the ability to dribble and see the court very well. My game style includes being able to guard my man and find rebounds. I am a pull up shooter and spot up shooting guard with the ability to get to the rim.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My competitive mentality is to go as hard as I can and control the aspects of the game that I can control. I'm an easy player to get along with and build chemistry with my teammates. I'm dedicated to improving through elite training at Hoosier Shooting Academy and am a member of the 50K+ shooting club. I participate in speed/agility/plyometric workouts at HYPERFORMANCE Athletic Development.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Sunshine Society Straight A's all 8 semesters. Student of the Month. Student Mentor.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed short term memory by moving on after mistakes and making up for it on the next play. I've learned communication skills to guide my teammates on the court and make the game smoother for my team. I have also developed quick critical thinking with efficient problem solving. I have done this by learning how to make split decisions in basketball and making reads on defenders.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A challenge I have faced is balancing basketball and my social life. For example, I find my self getting better in the weight room and training, so I do not have much time to see my friends outside of school. But usually my closest friends are teammates that I get to play basketball with.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college with good academics and a coach that will push me to get better. I also am looking for a college with teammates and staff to make me better on and off the court.

The Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase was made for prospects like this Triton Central High School product. There are some of the big names from around the state, the Top 10 or so guys, that we are already familiar with when they show up. However, Calderone was among the standouts from the group that we didn’t have previously knowledge of. He used his body very well off of the dribble, scored it in the paint consistently at the end of his drives, and shot it well from three-point range as well. Remember his name in the coming years at Triton Central.
