While he took a backseat as a scorer, Holmes nonetheless was a two-way force while helping to engineer the win. The Arizona commit stuffed the stat sheet with 13 points, 7 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 3 blocks, operating up and down the lineup on both ends and demonstrating evident leadership traits for his younger co-stars. Holmes spent time initiating the offense, using his size and vision to pick things apart as a passer. He wreaked havoc on the other end, guarding a number of CTK counterparts while using his instincts and physical tools to make plays on that end and kickstart the Tigers’ transition attack. When needed in the second half, he stepped up with a number of key buckets to help keep the Royals at bay. It was an impactful performance for Holmes despite the modest scoring total.
