Brock has been one of the state’s breakout players this winter, going from averaging 9.3 ppg as a junior to 27.2 ppg as a senior. Although his 22 points last night were below that average, he was dominant on both ends of the floor before sitting roughly the last 8 minutes in a blowout win. Columbia Heights didn’t have anyone who could match his size, let alone his versatile skillset at that size. He wasn’t afraid to play physical on the block and finish with a left handed hook-shot, and also showcased a smooth pull-up jumper from mid-range. The 6’7 SF can hit shots off the catch, but is comfortable putting the ball on the floor and handling it as well. Showed some fluid athleticism with a big time dunk in transition. Columbia Heights was looking to attack him and try to pick up some fouls on him, but Brock did a fantastic job of walling up around the rim to not only avoid fouling, but also block a handful of shots throughout the game. Recently picked up an offer from St. Cloud State.

Totino-Grace didn’t have an answer for Brock in the first half. At 6’7 he was stretching the floor from three, scoring in transition, and working his way to the basket to finish strong at the rim. Really like the comfort Brock moves with at 6’7, showing some fluidity with his ability to finish at the rim, and even threw down a dunk in transition with a contesting defender nearby. He came into the game averaging roughly 26 ppg, and matched that average against one of the most stacked teams in the state. Totino-Grace ended up pulling away in the second half to win comfortably, but I liked the fight that Brock showed in this game.
