Expert Analysis
Victor Taylor | Prep Hoops Scout
Cannon exploded in a win over Calvary Day, posting 35 points, 17 rebounds, and 6 blocks to lead the Furies to the championship. He’s long, thin and can explode to the basket with great quickness and burst, finishing over people with his athleticism and length. He can shoot it a little bit too, but is mostly disruptive because of his 6’10 frame and guard like quickness. Protecting the rim comes easy, and he’s a hard box simply because he’s so tall.

Cannon excelled in his team’s two victories this weekend at the Ish Smith Showcase, scoring 21 in a win over Concord Academy and then 24 in a win over TBS. His finishing ability at the rim is impressive, with his extreme length causing problems for defenders. Also proved he can step out and shoot the ball at points in the games, knocking down a few perimeter jumpers. Should be an impact player and a steal for UNO next year.

Cannon was the engine that made the Furies go last night, as he showed off as a slasher, rim protector, rebounder, and even a connector. His biggest detraction is a slight frame that doesn’t allow him to bang as much with physicality, but he’s got enormous length to finish around and over people. Showcased good looking jumper that looks like it can be a weapon soon. Looking like he can be a big time get for UNO.

It’s clear that he’s put in his fair share of time in the gym, especially when it comes to his ability to knock down shots. He knocked down shots from midrange and three-point land at a high level which is always impressive coming from a player that stands at 6’9/6’10.
