Shultz played very solid on Thursday night for Perrysburg. He is a high-IQ player with a good feel for the game. His body seems to have matured. He has a good build for a point guard. He is a sniper. Quick shot with a pretty form. He has the next-level range. His footwork is flawless so he can shoot off the dribble and off the move.

Shultz used to be the sneaky player for Perrysburg that could hurt you but is now the vocal point for the Jackets this season. He is going to be their point guard who runs the offense but needs to score too. This kid can score. He is a sneaky and quiet scorer. You look up and he all of a sudden has 25 points. He is a knockdown shooter when left open. He is a sneaky-good finisher for his size. His size is the question mark on him but he proves time and again he can score against anyone.

One of the top shooters in NW Ohio and even the entire state, Shultz was showing how quickly he can get going from the outside on Sunday. Doesn’t need much time or space, Shultz can let it fly and knock it down. His most impressive shot of the day came off a reverse pivot where he faded away from the mid-range and connected. I also thought Shultz looked more physically mature since I last saw him early in his Junior season. Getting stronger and more physically ready to play at the next level is key for Shultz and he seems to be making progress in that area of the game. Expect a big scoring season for Shultz and to be near the top of the 3-point leaders in Ohio.

When discussing the best shooters in the state, you can’t mention too many names before Shultz gets a nod. Shooting 51.7% from 3-point range on 172 attempts this season, those numbers are absolutely outrageous. I want to see Shultz improve physically and it’ll be interesting to see how he plays after Perrysburg graduated a core group of seniors that were rock solid and helped them have one of their best years in school history during the 2022-23 season. If Shultz can continue to put up efficient shooting numbers as a senior without that help, his stock will only continue to rise.

Another elite shooter, Shultz is one of the top 3-point shooters in the Toledo area. Perrysburg has had an impressive season so far and while they have seniors making a big impact, the microwave scoring ability that Shultz has is unique to anybody else on their roster. A bit undersized and not a point guard right now, I’ll be intrigued to see how Shultz plays once the senior class graduates. You could see Shultz show that he’s a better passer and driver than the role he plays right now.

This prospect has a burner! Shultz is proving himself to be one of the top shooters in Ohio’s 2024 class with another efficient outing from 3-point range once again. His most impressive play of the night was when he ran off two screens and hit a fallaway 3-pointer just before the first half horn. While Shultz isn’t a natural point guard just yet, he does have the ability to attack a closeout and get to the basket. Perrysburg has a solid team with seniors like Watkins and the Hunt twins, but Shultz adds a different dynamic with his scoring ability.
