On Tuesday I was in Lima and watched one of the best matchups in NWO. As Whitmer beat Lima Senior in OT 78-74. On Thursday I watch Southview get a conference win against Perrysburg, 49-46. Friday night I watched my first CLHS battle as St. Francis picked up the road win at Toledo Central Catholic, 43-41. Then on Saturday night, I got to watch a TAAC matchup and see Maumee Valley pick up an impressive 63-57 win on the road against Toledo Christian. I saw a ton of talent at these games and this article will cover the guards of the week that impressed me.
Majors is going to get his. There is nothing you can do about it. He will score on you. Toledo Christian did a good job the first half of containing him Saturday night but he just kept attacking and found his lanes in the second half. He was putting a ton of pressure on the rim. He started finding lanes in transition to finish the ball and he got in a rhythm. He was in foul trouble so he had to be smart but was. He gave Maumee Valley a huge lead before fouling out and his teammates brought the rest home.
Heck is a very consistent player and you know what you are going to get out of him. A tough and smart kid who will play hard. He was picking the ball up full court consistently all night. He was in attack mode all game long against Central Catholic. He was getting to the rim and was knocking down shots. He makes some very contested shots, but with his height, he is used to it. He battled foul trouble but came up big late when the Knights needed him.

Ferguson was big for St. Francis in the first half. In a half that offense struggle Ferguson was scoring. He was getting the rim consistently. Really good slasher and straight-line driver. He is a strong kid which makes it tough to stay in front of him. This led him to get fouled and get to the free-throw line often. He was rebounding well and played strong inside.
Shultz played very solid on Thursday night for Perrysburg. He is a high-IQ player with a good feel for the game. His body seems to have matured. He has a good build for a point guard. He is a sniper. Quick shot with a pretty form. He has the next-level range. His footwork is flawless so he can shoot off the dribble and off the move.
McLeod is a very important piece to a top team in the state in Whitmer. His shooting ability is vital for the success of the Panthers. He can shoot a team out of a zone, which he did against Lima Senior on Tuesday whenever they attempted a zone. He plays very hard and is a good defender.
