One of a few transfers to Toledo Whitmer this off-season, McLeod came from Wauseon. After being a multi sport standout at Wauseon, McLeod has fit in well with Whitmer. I got to see McLeod for the first time in person at the Toledo Top 64 where he stood out as a complimentary guard who could knock down open shots, find the open man and defend on the perimeter.

I am very high on McLeod this year. I think he has a breakout season around the corner for him with his transfer to Whitmer. He is a super solid guard who can shoot the ball. He is a knockdown shooter off the dribble but a catch-n-shoot specialist. He can defend other guard positions well too. He will be a glue and unsung player for the Panthers this year and someone who will turn eyes when you watch this team play.

McLeod is someone who gave Toledo a warning that he will be a key piece for an already stacked Whitmer squad. This was a lot of people in the Toledo area’s first time watching him play and he was impressive. He is a guard with a good-sized body and showed a good ability to absorb and create contact. He has a really good jumper, especially off the dribble. He had a lot of good one-dribble all-ups in the midrange. He has a simple but effective game. Expect his recruitment to pick up this year.

McLeod is a prospect I’d heard good things about but this was my first opportunity to scout him in person and focus on him. I walked away impressed with his feel for the game and scoring ability. At the rim, McLeod had a couple of extension finishes past rim protectors and got low on the drive to sneak past help-side defenders. A capable shooter as well, McLeod knocked down some corner 3-pointers as well. Toledo Whitmer has brought in a lot of talent this off-season and McLeod comes from Wauseon to try and bolster their guard talent even more.
