Expert Analysis
Tony Roe | Prep Hoops Scout
Wade isn’t going to do much that will blow you away on the offensive end, but his ability to control the glass and provide a ton of value as a defender make him a valuable player for the Bulldogs. He’s a strong, physical interior force who uses his strength to hold his ground in the paint. He’s not a big-time shot blocker (0.3 a game), but he’s a good all-around defender who contests shots and makes it difficult for opposing teams to score in the paint. He averaged 9.2 points and 6.8 rebounds a game as a junior.

Wade is a great interior defender with tremendous strength and understanding of defensive rotations. He’s a really good team defender who will rotate and contest shots, and he doesn’t give up any ground in the painted area with his physical frame. His offensive game is still a work in progress, but he has good hands, rebounds at a high level on both ends of the floor, and will provide versatility on the defensive end.

Big body with great movement. Great footwork and finishing ability by the hoop. Stays down on defense. Very disciplined in most aspects of the game. Rim runs well going both ways down the floor. Hard worker with some high upside as he gets into college. Player to watch this season.

Wade didn’t have huge numbers as a sophomore for the Bulldogs (5.5 points, 3.4 rebounds), but he’s a 6-7 big man who makes a tremendous impact on the game with his defense and ability to control the glass. Like Wilkins, he’s coming off a really strong summer with the Barnstormers where he more than held his own against some of the best big men in the country, limiting them offensively and taking advantage of his opportunities when they presented themselves on the offensive end. He has good hands, improving footwork and touch, and he’s incredibly strong. Programs looking for a defensive enforcer will love Wade.
