Olympia will be giving up size on the perimeter, which makes his role even more valuable. He will be counted on to rebound and get some easy buckets in the paint. He is also very capable of stepping out and hitting the three. He needs to play big as Olympia will not be as big overall.

He was the difference in the first 10, getting some wide open looks underneath. Scoring 12 on the night. Gerrits, much like Brewer turned into a facilitating guard. Those two make basketball plays and good decisions. They are always helping their team by being the kind of playmaking guards that keep their team organized. He hit a three and a couple easy ones. Neither forced the issue and neither were left open much. Engholm runs the floor and knows he will get the ball from his playmaker. That’s exactly what happened.

He gives Olympia an advantage in the paint as the best post player in this game and one of the best in the state. He is skilled as an offensive player who can score with his back to the basket or step out and hit the jumper from three. He is a tough player who rebounds, blocks shots and runs the floor. He could be a tough match-up for Tumwater and gives Olympia the power advantage on the block.

‘ jelly. He is a key part of what is a serious title contender at Olympia. The big man grinds inside with great touch at the rim and has an underrated feel for the game and its flow. He could be a double-double guy this season while chipping in blocks and assists too.

Engholm is a key figure in this squad who has shown great toughness and versatility for a big man. However, for the Bears to reach the promised land, Engholm will have to be at his best as an efficient player inside. His ability to pop out after a screen and stretch the interior of the defense will be huge as well, unclogging the lane for some of the slashing guards.

Tough player who is skilled in the post. He’s got a back to the basket game that includes a nice jump hook that he has mastered. He runs the floor well. He can step out and hit the three. He’s physical and will rebound. He can put the ball on the floor for a couple dribbles, cover a lot of ground, and get himself to the rim. He is excellent at blocking shots, that includes using his left hand and not getting unnecessary fouls. I think he’s underrated and one of the best bigs in the state. He’s got everything I would look for in a post player at the next level. He had a great off-season season that included winning a couple of big tournaments with his club team, Roots Academy out of Olympia.

At 6’8, he’s a true big for Olympia. He can affect the game on both ends of the floor. He’s also in my toughest players article, he can get it done on defense with his shot blocking and physical play. On offense, he has both a back to the basket game-nice jump hook, as well as being able to shoot the three and put it on the floor with a couple dribbles to get himself to the basket. Olympia will need his size to go along with a host of athletic guard/wing type players on a team that will be among the best in 4A next season.

. I would be buying this kid lunch for the things he does on the court. He’s a willing rebounder to say the least. He has great footwork in the post and can score. Whether it be on a soft jump hook or knocking down shots with his nice touch, he can get it done. He will also not back down from contact, and you can count on him to do the things you want from your big man. A blocked shot to start the break, a tough rebound and outlet. (underrated skill) He knows his role and makes his teammates better. A perfect complement for a superstar guard to have. He will protect the paint and do the dirty work when it matters.
