Alvarez Smith Alvarez Smith 6'2" | SF Mauldin | 2026 State SC , a new name in the most recent Prep Hoops SC 2026 Rankings, leads off my next list of Standouts from the Phenom Summer Havoc. This was my first chance to see Smith this summer since he was sick during the Sizzlin’ Summer Shootout in June. As usual, Alvarez’s work rate and defensive versatility really impressed. His jump shot also looked very confident, which was a new improvement in his game. Smith was effective off the catch from the perimeter and on mid-range pull-ups, putting up 11 Points. He is capable of guarding 2-5 on the defensive end at this level and made some impact plays with 2 Blocks and 2 Steals in the Carolina Celtics’ win over NC Invasion in the 17U Division.
