About Alexander

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a strong, versatile forward who can dominate in the paint and stretch the floor with my outside three-point shooting. I play both center and power forward using my physicality to score inside with effective post moves while also being a consistent threat from beyond the arc. My combo of size, strength, and skill makes me a tough matchup on both ends.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Plays with a fierce competitive edge and confidence. A natural leader who sets the tone with my energy, thriving under pressure and embraces tough matchups. Never backs down from a challenge.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Involved in area golf tournaments and volunteering when available at various camps/clinics.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through my journey in basketball I have grown as a confident leader who uplifts my teammates and leads by example on and off the court. I understand the value of teamwork, communication and trust always putting my team first. My work ethic and discipline carry over into the classroom and community.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Was recently honored to be invited to the first annual Nike Jr EYBL 8th Grade Academy for the top 100 kids in the country. There were a lot of kids bigger and stronger than me but I out worked them on the court to let my game naturally shine through.

What type of college are you looking for?

Looking for a college that offers strong academic support, a competitive basketball program where I can grow and contribute, and a team culture. I value a coach who pushes me to be my best while caring about me as a person and wanting to be a part of a program that feels like home both on and off the court.

The younger Tanny brother, Alex came off the bench to score 6 points on 3-3 shooting for Wahlert. A 6-7/6-8 big man with great hands and soft touch around the rim, he does a really good job sealing his man and establishing good post position. When he catches the ball, he keeps it high and doesn’t allow defenders to take it from him by bringing it low unnecessarily. He’s a bit stiff athletically at this point, probably still growing into his body a bit, but there is some real potential here.
