The 6’7 frontcourt player from Wichita East has the look of one that can eventually earn the looks of college coaches in the modern game.  When you are 6’7 and growing with the ability to get up and down the floor and use length, you are a player that college coaches put in their notebook and keep an eye on. Defensively they want guys that can laterally step and show to the ball, but also recover and make a play on the ball to the rim if needed.  In looking at Butler tape with One of Us we see that.  And….. Butler has the ability to rim run or be a trail pop guy, and he can make that choice and do those things as well.  What you are seeing Butler start to get comfortable with is the type of game that players with size compete with at the next level.

Butler, another interior presence, has arguably seen the biggest growth in the state over the last year. He’s shown he can play both inside and out offensively and continues to gain confidence the more he plays. Aiden likes to finish over his right shoulder, but he’s also been extremely aggressive on the offensive glass, consistently creating extra possessions. His range has stretched beyond the three-point line, and he’s finishing above the rim in the open floor on a regular basis. In ball screen actions, he can either pop to space or roll hard to the rim, putting defenses in difficult situations. He’s also an effective defender, protecting the rim with his length and timing while showing he can switch onto perimeter players when needed.

#21 for Wichita East Blue Aces, Aiden was strong on the offensive boards in the 1st half of tonight’s contest and was huge in allowing the Blue Aces to gain an early first-half lead against the rival Falcons.
