Butler’s growth has continued this summer as he’s emerged as one of the top frontcourt prospects in Kansas’ 2028 class. The long, versatile forward relentlessly pursues the basketball as a rebounder and continues to erase shots around the rim. He’s also shown this summer that he can finish effectively over his right shoulder and play through contact around the basket.

Perhaps his biggest area of growth has been his ability to step out and knock down perimeter shots off the catch and in a variety of actions. He’s very versatile in ball screen situations, whether he’s rolling to the rim or popping into space. That added offensive versatility has made him much more difficult to defend and raised his overall ceiling. Aiden is in line for a big junior season at Wichita East this winter.

Butler is the 6’7 size of the 16u champs that won the bracket play event. Was very important to keeping opponents from scoring high percentage shots in the paint getting to his help spots plus he knocked down some perimeter jumpers, rolled to the rim to do damage, and cleared space for the guards to have a big event as well.

The 6’7 frontcourt player from Wichita East has the look of one that can eventually earn the looks of college coaches in the modern game.  When you are 6’7 and growing with the ability to get up and down the floor and use length, you are a player that college coaches put in their notebook and keep an eye on. Defensively they want guys that can laterally step and show to the ball, but also recover and make a play on the ball to the rim if needed.  In looking at Butler tape with One of Us we see that.  And….. Butler has the ability to rim run or be a trail pop guy, and he can make that choice and do those things as well.  What you are seeing Butler start to get comfortable with is the type of game that players with size compete with at the next level.

Butler, another interior presence, has arguably seen the biggest growth in the state over the last year. He’s shown he can play both inside and out offensively and continues to gain confidence the more he plays. Aiden likes to finish over his right shoulder, but he’s also been extremely aggressive on the offensive glass, consistently creating extra possessions. His range has stretched beyond the three-point line, and he’s finishing above the rim in the open floor on a regular basis. In ball screen actions, he can either pop to space or roll hard to the rim, putting defenses in difficult situations. He’s also an effective defender, protecting the rim with his length and timing while showing he can switch onto perimeter players when needed.

He’s impacting the game in a big way defensively, protecting the rim with authority and consistently blocking shots. His physicality and timing also show up on the glass, where he rebounds at a high level on both ends. Offensively, he brings energy and explosiveness, finishing strong and putting pressure on defenses with powerful dunks. His rise reflects a player who is embracing his role and dominating in areas that translate at a high level.

#21 for Wichita East Blue Aces, Aiden was strong on the offensive boards in the 1st half of tonight’s contest and was huge in allowing the Blue Aces to gain an early first-half lead against the rival Falcons.
