Expert Analysis
Steve Parham | Prep Hoops Scout
Former Romeoville prospect returned home to show how well he’s improved his skillset. Adam is super bouncy and likes to play above the rim. He had the best poster dunk of the day as he dunked over two guys trying to block his attempt. With one more year to go Walker can make some noise for himself playing in a competitive prep conference.

While it came in a narrow defeat to New Heights, Walker seized the opportunity with Durant missing some missing pieces in the frontcourt to showcase himself as a prospect with long-term high-major potential. In a game full of high-level prospects, he stands out amongst the rest with a top-end combination of size, length, and mobility as he patrols the paint and extends out to the perimeter on both ends. Walker has room to grow with his feel and technique, but makes a steady impact with his motor and physical tools while tossing in flashes of offensive skill. With his best basketball still ahead of him, coaches up to the high-major level could see value in Walker as a worthy long-term investment given the value of experienced bigs on the open market.

79 to 22…Walker is an agile and long power forward who averaged 8 points, 8 boards and 2 blocks per game as the fifth option in a Westtown starting five loaded with DI prospects. During the 2024-25 season, Walker was an efficient scorer who produced points off post ups, alley-oops, dives to the cup and the offensive glass. Walker has a habit of finishing all those scoring opportunities with a dunk. However, this spring Walker has flashed a more well-rounded skill set which includes the ability to drain jumpers. Recently at the Donofrio Classic, Walker popped Js from the elbows, deep mid-range and even from behind the arc. Defensively, Walker is a major plus player with outstanding shot blocking instincts.

During his first season at Westtown, we learnedthat Walker is an agile and long power forward who dunks everything on offense and provides intimidating rim protection on defense. On Tuesday night those skills were on full display. However, the less conservative style of play at the Donofrio Classic enabled Walker to showcase his watery jump shot too. Walker drained a few mid-range jumpers, including a couple nice fade-aways. He stepped out to the 3-point line and knocked down three triples too. When the final horn sounded, Walker and his stretch-4 skill set had posted 20 points.

Looking to continue a storied lineage of Westtown bigs who have gone on to play at the highest levels, Walker is impossible to miss upon taking the floor with his striking blend of imposing length and graceful mobility. A transfer from Illinois, he covers ground with a natural fluidity that few his size can match as a relentlessly live body whether it be changing ends in transition or patrolling defensively in search of blocks. Blessed with rim protection tools for the highest levels, he really tantalizes with his ability to also chop his feet on the perimeter or recover out to shooters in space. While not the most traditionally skilled, he fits a modern mold with his ability to space the floor offensively both vertically as a lob threat and out to the arc with his burgeoning 3-point stroke. There’s a ways to go in terms of strength and ball skills, but Walker played his role to great effect for Westtown in the middle and figures to draw recruiting attention up to the high-major level with his enticing skillset and physical gifts.

With Embiid on the shelf for some time, the 76ers need an athletic and versatile big who works hard at both ends of the floor. Walker is an agile and quick power forward with an extremely efficient offensive game. Walker would be an excellent fit with Maxey as a pick-n-roll partner or in DHO action. He also could operate in the dunker spot and catch lobs off Maxey dribble penetrations. Recently Walker scored 19 points against College Achieve (NJ). At the other end of the court, Walker is an intimidating rim protector. Plus, Walker plays with a tenacity and edginess that the Sixers lineup desperately needs.

109 to 79…On a Westtown squad that is filled with DI perimeter prospects, Walker has carved out a role for himself as a big man who is willing to do the dirty work that produces wins. Walker is an athletic and sneaky quick traditional power forward. His offensive game is extremely efficient. Walker does the bulk of scoring damage via dives to the rim, the offensive glass and by operating on the baseline as well as in the dunker spot. He runs the floor extremely well for his size, so Walker is a threat on the secondary break. In all these scoring scenarios, Walker will not hesitate to cram on an opponent’s head. Earlier this month Walker scored 19 points against College Achieve (NJ). On defense, Walker is an elite shot blocker.

Coming over from the Chicagoland area, Walker is your classic rim runner. He’s always a threat to space the floor vertically, whether he’s rolling to the basket or already there, set up on the weak side. Walker plays with a similar intensity on defense, attacking rebounds out of his area and contesting shots in the paint.

This high-profile transfer is well known on the national grassroots circuit, but he is a new name on the SEPA high school hoops scene. Walker is an athletic and instinctive forward with an efficient offensive game. He runs the floor extraordinarily well and then finishes fast breaks with authority. In the half-court, Walker contributes via dives to the rim from the elbows and by catching alley-oops along the baseline as well as in the dunker spot. The big fella can also produce points out of pick-n-roll action and on the offensive glass. On defense, Walker is an elite shot blocker.
