Johnson, a guard out of West Haven High School in Connecticut, checks in at #19 among the shooting guards and #142 overall. Johnson just wrapped up a terrific senior season with a CIAC Division I state championship in a triple overtime thriller. The 6’2″ guard built off of his strong summer, showing a ton of playmaking ability with the ball in his hands, both in the half-court and in transition. He does a great job of playing at different speeds, uses his length to finish at the rim, and shows high level floor vision as a passer. Defensively, he’s highly disruptive, both at the point of attack and in passing lanes, and excels when turning defense into offense in transition. Johnson has yet to announce his plans for next year.

Johnson, a senior guard out of West Haven High School, has elevated his game as much as any prospect in the state over the last 12 months. One of the CIAC’s premier athletes, he does a terrific job of making plays on the defensive end of the floor that lead to scoring opportunities in transition. He has good size at the guard spot and plus length, which when combined with his quickness, allows him to get into the paint at will off the bounce, where he’s a high level scorer around the rim. He does a nice job of scoring in isolation situations, showing some plus shot creation ability with the ball in his hands. On top of all that, he’s developed some consistency from behind the arc as a shooter and is capable of knocking them down in bunches when he gets hot.
