To take advantage of this, we have started to add these videos to players in Oregon in the Class of 2021 at all different levels. Here’s a look at four more players whose profiles have recently been updated.
Prospect: Drew Carter Drew Carter 6'3" | SG Tigard | 2021 OR
HS: Tigard
Video Added to Site: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSp-bKKwAxo
PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2021 Rankings: #5
Analysis: There’s a good reason why Carter ranked second in 6A in scoring – he can pretty much get buckets from everywhere on the court. In this group of clips – almost 20 minutes worth – the 6-foot-3 guard does it from all three levels. Carter has always been known as a shooter with picture-perfect form and a quick release and while he’s near automatic from any distance when he’s open, he also shoots a high percentage when contested as well. He can also create off the dribble and pull-up or get to the hoop and in transition he’ll finish at the rim. Carter can even post up smaller players inside utilizing his strength and athleticism advantage. With his football recruitment on the rise the gridiron may be his main college future but he can definitely play hoops at the D-I level as well.
Prospect: Damontae Burns Damontae Burns 6'1" | CG Parkrose | 2021 State OR
HS: Parkrose
Height/Position: 6-1 / Combo Guard
PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2021 Rankings: #10
Video Added to Site: https://www.hudl.com/video/3/5529498/5e8b4d230c53550428efcffc
Analysis: Burns – best known as “Tay Tay” – has long been considered one of the top players in the Class and he continues to evolve as a combo guard. In these clips his ability to hit from long range are highlighted, with his smooth stroke and quick release. He can hit deep threes off he catch-and-shoot whether getting the kick-out, coming off of a screen, or using his own dribble to create space and pull-up or step-back. Burns has good speed and athleticism and is dangerous in transition, either finding the open man or taking it all the way and finishing at the rim with the flush. Defensively he has quick hands and he reads passing lanes well.
Prospect: Roy Bunn Roy Bunn 5'9" | PG Jesuit | 2021 State OR
HS: Jesuit
Height/Position: 5-9 / Point Guard
PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2021 Rankings: #21
Video Added to Site: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhpSeGX73PY&t=3s
Analysis: Bunn has some of the tightest handles in the class and with his shifty change of direction moves, he’s the one guy on the team that Jesuit assigns to break down defenders and create off the dribble when the Crusaders need a bucket. A smaller guard at 5-foot-9, he’s adept at scoring with floaters in the lane or acrobatic layups, but as a pure point guard he’s also very cognizant of where the team’s high-percentage perimeter shooters are camped out and will get them the ball. While his own outside shot is not necessarily a weapon, Bunn can hit open ones with enough regularity to keep defenses honest.
Prospect: Brandon Hopson Brandon Hopson 6'0" | PG Jefferson | 2021 State OR
HS: Roosevelt
Height/Postition: 6-0 – Point Guard
PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2021 Rankings: #22
Video Added to Site: https://www.hudl.com/video/2/263992/5e9f66a4a0231a02e44fc75b
Analysis: Hopson played a lot off the ball this season for Roosevelt, largely because he’s a good shooter and can spot up for threes. But the 6-foot guard may be better with the rock in his hands as he’s a creative ball-handler and can get to the hoop, especially going to his left, where he can finish with either hand or find the open man. He hoping to play with either Elite 24 or Active PCH when club ball resumes.
