#1 Jaden Bradley Jaden Bradley 6'2" | PG IMG Academy | 2022 State #15 Nation FL | 6-3 PG | Cannon
Bradley was the best player in the state of North Carolina in his class and he further proved that point by leading Cannon School to the NCISAA 4A State crown and winning the 2020 Gatorade State Player of the Year award. He’s one of the best player in the class of 2022 and constantly puts it on display with his ability to make plays for his teammates and keep defenders guessing when guarding him. He can score on all three levels already and is an active defender as well. He holds high major offers already and is due to make a splash across the next few seasons.
#2 Jalen Hood-Schifino Jalen Hood-Schifino 6'4" | PG Montverde Academy | 2022 State #27 Nation FL | 6-5 G | Combine Academy
Hood-Schifino is a prototype for the definition of a big guard. He’s 6-foot-5 with a strong and lengthy frame, making him a matchup nightmare when dribbling to the rim to create. He hasn’t quite mastered the 3-ball but he won’t hesitate to bring the defense to the perimeter and look to wreak havoc there as well. He’s already committed to the Pittsburgh Panthers, so his development as an ACC guard should be fun to watch.
#3 Jeremy Gregory Jeremy Gregory 6'8" | PF Oak Hill Academy | 2022 State NC | 6-8 F/C | North Mecklenburg
Gregory was a double-double machine in the post for North Mecklenburg in 2019-20. He hit the ground running this season and did damage, averaging close to 12 points and 10 rebounds per game for the Vikings as they were crowned co-4A State Champions due to recent events. With departures in their backcourt, Gregory should be due for even more of a break out season in 2020-21.
#4 DJ Nix DJ Nix 6'7" | SF Cannon | 2022 State #211 Nation NC | 6-7 F | Cannon
Nix is a prospect that can do a little bit of everything at the forward spot. He uses his versatility well to keep defenders guessing on every play, making him a tough three-level score to stop. He does well to move without the ball in his hands to get open too. On defense, he uses his length to rebound and block shots, allowing his star point guard to focus on facilitating the offense. He holds offers from some strong mid-major suitors already as well.
#5 Daniel Sanford Daniel Sanford 6'8" | PF JL Chambers | 2022 State NC | 6-7 F | Vance
Sanford is a forward prospect that passes the eye test from sheer looks alone. He’s got broad shoulders and a huge frame to go along with his 6-foot-7 size. He uses it well to fly to the rim and fly around blocking shots on the defensive end. He was an energy guy on the floor for Vance this past season, producing 14.5 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 1.6 spg and 1.4 bpg. He’ll return in 2020-21 with a strong core of players returning looking to do damage in the area.
#6 Patrick Wessler Patrick Wessler 7'0" | C Combine Academy | 2022 State #217 Nation NC | 6-10 F/C | Combine Academy
Wessler will be a new face in the Combine Academy rotation in 2020-21 but he’s not a new name to us here at PrepHoopsNC or the rest of the state for that matter. He’s a 6-foot-10 big man that continues to grow and develop as an all-around prospect. He can defend the paint and the perimeter. He’s a solid threat in the pick-and-roll and pick-and-pop game with his ability to handle the ball and shoot it on the perimeter. As he continues to learn about the pace of the game, he’ll be one to watch in this class.
#7 Evan Smith Evan Smith 6'4" | PG Ardrey Kell | 2022 State NC | 6-3 G | Ardrey Kell
Smith turned heads this past season for Ardrey Kell. He first caught our attention at the Charlotte Hoops Challenge where he went toe-to-toe with Jaden Bradley Jaden Bradley 6'2" | PG IMG Academy | 2022 State #15 Nation FL . He finished that game with 12 points, eight assists and five rebounds in a close loss. He’s a shifty guard that can get to the rim and finish with his length and athleticism. Though, he looks to pass first before becoming a scoring threat, he’s quite the combo guard in the making at Ardrey Kell.
#8 Marcus Magness Marcus Magness 6'0" | PG West Charlotte | 2022 State NC | 6-0 PG | West Charlotte
Magness was a break out performer for his West Charlotte squad in 2019-20, averaging 14.9 ppg, 6.6 apg, 5.6 rpg and 2.0 spg. He’s another true floor general that’s making a name for himself out of the Charlotte area. He isn’t one to take a lot of threes and makes the defense work by pushing the envelope. He’s a guard that looks to get to the paint and make plays at all costs.
#9 Quave Propst-Allison Quave Propst-Allison 6'0" | PG Providence Day | 2022 State NC | 6-0 G | Cox Mill
Propst led the way for a rebuilding Cox Mill squad that still went 25-4 in 2019-20. He’s a lightning quick guard that takes what the defense gives him while making them pay. He put up 15.9 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 4.3 apg and 1.6 spg. Once the game gets going, Propst is one that makes his presence known right away with his ability to fill up the stat sheet. He’s another prospect at Cox Mill to keep an eye on.
#10 Elijah Gray Elijah Gray 6'8" | SF Hargrave Military | 2022 State NC | 6-8 F | Carmel Christian
Gray is an emerging forward prospect at Carmel Christian. He produced 6.8 ppg and 3.5 rpg during his sophomore season, putting up a season-high 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting in his best outing. He has the ability to play either forward spot with his ability to attack the rim and cause havoc on the perimeter. He uses his length well to defend and stay in passing lanes and is a solid option in the post.
