Cade Meyer Cade Meyer 6'8" | PF Monroe | 2021 State #237 Nation WI – Monroe
Given that we don’t have an AAU season right now or anything that’s clear cut on the horizon, I’m not sure which level Meyer is going to end up at. My eyes tell me he’s a low, power-five kid — suited for a place like Northwestern, Nebraska, etc. Meyer also has such a high ceiling and reward potential that I believe some upper-tier power-five program could/should roll the dice on him.
Meyer made absolutely huge gains from his sophomore to junior year. The 6-foot-8 forward has shot it very consistently from 3-point range. He’s a very athletic prospect who was a state high jump champion as a sophomore. The all-around skillset and package also continues to improve. The motor, rebounding, and rim-protecting is the question mark with Meyer, but he shows a willingness at times to want to own the glass and control the paint.

Zac Johnson Zac Johnson 6'3" | SG River Falls | 2021 State WI – River Falls
This will be an interesting recruitment to follow and I’m sure there are a lot of Division 2 programs praying that Johnson falls to their level. Johnson is without a doubt a Division 1 level shooter. The 6-foot-3 sniper is as automatic as it gets when he’s in rhythm.
But there are question marks that Division 1 programs will need answered. Is his athleticism up to par? Can he defend at that level? Is he a capable scorer off the dribble against athletes? If he can show enough glimpses there, I’d expect a flood of low-major offers to come Johnson’s way. At worse, he’s a dynamite Division 2 prospect.
Offers: Winona State
John Lovelace John Lovelace 6'4" | SF Brown Deer | 2021 State WI – Brown Deer
I don’t Lovelace as a clear cut Division 1 talent, but his upside and potential to rise still greatly exists. Given some of the things he’s shown over the past six months, it is a little hard to see settling for less.
A 6-foot-4 wing who can do a little bit of everything on the floor, Lovelace is a two-way player that gets it done on both ends. An athletic slasher who can also space the floor with spot-up shooting and even has that in-between game off the bounce, Lovelace was one of the biggest risers in the state last summer. He checks the boxes with athleticism, length, and willingness to do the dirty work.
Quinton Murrell Quinton Murrell 6'5" | SG Milwaukee King | 2021 State WI – Milwaukee King
Could see Murrell as a guy who goes the JUCO route and becomes a hot Division 1 prospect down the road. A plus-length shooting guard with budding scoring potential, Murrell is just a shot maker. His level is a little hard to project. Murrell is still quite raw physically and not nearly filled out yet. Able to play on and off the ball, Murrell has a creative, but often fundamental scoring package that makes you think that if/when his strength/athleticism catches up, he could take off as a prospect.
Brock Heffner Brock Heffner 6'7" | PF Grafton | 2021 State WI – Grafton
A prospect I know that I don’t have ranked accurately right now, but I just need to lay eyes on again, Heffner is expected to be a potential top 25 player by next summer. A skilled, versatile big man who can score with strength or finesse, Heffner had an outstanding junior season. What makes Heffner scary is that he’s starting to move like a wing. At 6-foot-7, he also plays wide receiver and outside linebacker in football. This is a kid that Division 2 programs should end up lining up for when all is said and done.
Adam Larson Adam Larson 6'9" | PF Fennimore | 2021 State WI – Fennimore
Speaking of scary upside, it’s oozing from Larson. The 6-foot-8 stretch forward is a lanky, plus-athlete who can absolutely shoot the rock. At the next level, Larson has a chance to be a deadly pick n’ pop weapon and someone who can run the floor and generate easy buckets. Defensively, he has the feet and lateral quickness to switch onto guards and eliminate potential mismatch issues.
