2020 6-1 PG [player_tooltip player_id="751856" first="Dwon" last="Odom"] – St. Francis – Xavier

A blur in the open court, Georgia’s best in transition played at a breakneck pace to blow past Greenforest for his second straight state title. Odom finished with 27 points (10-13 FG), 9 rebounds and 4 assists. He got a little sloppy at times with 7 turnovers, but the future Musketeer was unstoppable with his offensive efficiency. He missed only one shot inside the arc and punished Greenforest’s young guards.

2020 6-3 F [player_tooltip player_id="868131" first="Chase" last="Ellis"] – St. Francis – Berry

The undersized forward is pound-for-pound one of the best in the business in the paint. Facing 6-foot-11 MTSU-signee [player_tooltip player_id="806491" first="Christian" last="Fussell"], Ellis had no problem scoring inside. He finished with 14 points (5-7 FG) and 7 rebounds. Ellis used his body to drive into the chest of Fussell and score at the rim. It doesn’t matter who Ellis plays against or how tall they are. He will find a way to produce both offensively and on the glass. He is a future All-Conference player in the SAA.

2022 6-2 G [player_tooltip player_id="810375" first="Seth" last="Hubbard"] – St. Francis

From last year as a seldom-used option off the bench to this year collecting 12 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in the state championship, Hubbard has found his role in Coach Drew Catlett’s offense. Hubbard played with confidence and showcased his smooth all-around game. He has a good jumper with range, but also got to the basket and scored in traffic. Hubbard could have a breakout season alongside [player_tooltip player_id="754239" first="Jusaun" last="Holt"] and [player_tooltip player_id="754299" first="Jordan" last="Brown"] next year.

2021 5-9 PG Jamal Taylor – Hancock Central

The little point guard nicknamed “Peanut” scored the gam-winning layup with 11 seconds left in a wild 61-58 overtime thriller over Treutlen. The lefty is quick and has some wiggle. He can stop and pop but also can slide his way to the basket. He is an active defender and his defense helped force 28 Treutlen turnovers. Taylor finished with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals. He will need to limit turnovers however as he had 7.

2021 6-0 C Marquavious Lawrence – Hancock Central

Marquavious Lawrence stepped up off the bench for the Bullldogs. The undersized post player played solid defense against Cartavious Terry and found himself at the right place at the right time. He rebounded and had a soft touch around the rim. He finished with 12 points and 7 rebounds.

2020 6-3 G Chris Floyd – Treutlen

A wiry guard, Chris Flord finished with a game-high 22 points and 5 rebounds before fouling out. In Treutlen’s wild fast pace style of play, Floyd turned the ball over six times, but when he wasn’t rushing things, he did show some offensive firepower hitting three threes and slithering his way to the basket.

2021 6-8 C Cartavious Terry – Treutlen

Terry didn’t get a ton of consistent post touches but he did some good things throughout the game. He has a good frame and moves well. He’s not a great leaper and is a decent shot blocker. He struggled to score with his back to the basket but he stilled contributed 13 points, 13 rebounds, 2 steals and 5 blocks. Terry is a project, but he can be molded into a viable option at the JUCO level. With all of Treutlen’s guards graduating, the pace of play might slow down a tick and give Terry more chances around the rim.
