About Jalan
Expert Analysis
Eric Wallace | Prep Hoops Scout
The Georgia Tech commit is averaging over 14 points and nearly 9 rebounds per game for Tri-Cities, a 14-13 squad that is far more dangerous than its record suggests heading into the state tournament. A versatile forward with a strong frame and polished skill set, he consistently produces inside and out. He can establish position and score effectively on the block, knock down midrange jumpers, and finish through contact around the rim. On the glass, he rebounds his area with physicality and timing, providing a steady two-way presence that gives Tri-Cities a legitimate frontcourt anchor in postseason play.

It was easy to see why schools like Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina, and more are all over Wingfield based on what he showed this week. He is the prototype 4 in modern College Basketball, having the ability to handle the ball, hit jumpers inside and out, and punish smaller matchups in the post. Jalan is also physically gifted with a strong 6’8″ frame, soft hands, and good athleticism. Wingfield put up 10 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 blocks on Wednesday and 13 points and 7 rebounds on Thursday, playing for AE5.

delivered just that with 20 points, 19 rebounds and 3 blocks. Tri-Cities knocked off Woodward Academy 66-55 behind Wingfield’s tenacious play in the paint. He was physical and played with a chip on his shoulder, snagging rebounds and finishing through contact. Wingfield had some tone-setting dunks to spark the Bulldogs.

Jalan Wingfeild has pro-level size and athleticism. Wingfeild uses his incredible mechanics, strength, and length to create a tough matchup for the defender. He establishes his preferred position with size, and stellar footwork while maintaining ball security. Has a great touch and a high release around the rim to prevent any contest from the defense. On the perimeter, he has deadly spot-up potential and the ability to create space using a dribble pull-up.

The High Major recruit has a smooth game. He is comfortable playing inside and out. Jalan was able to control the backboards and make difference with his length on defense. Wingfield is dangerous in the pick-and-pop game with his outside shooting and is also a bull when catching on the roll and finishing in traffic.

We didn’t get to see Wingfield during the high school season as he dealt with eligibility issues but he made a statement in the spring, showing out for AE5’s 16u and 17u teams. Wingfield has great physical tools at 6’7, blending power and athleticism to make for a very versatile package. He can score in a variety of ways, able to attack from the perimeter and hit tough shots off the bounce or back defenders down into the low post. Wingfield’s offer list is up to 14 schools now as more high-major programs continue to enter the picture.

was forced to sit this high school season with eligibility issues but he’s quickly reminded us of the talent that he is, winning MVP at the Underclassmen All-American Game and showing out in his first weekend with AE5. Wingfield makes his presence felt both inside and out. He can score down low using his size and post moves, also a very capable shooter that can knock down threes and hit turnaround jumpers. Wingfield currently holds 8 D1 offers including Florida State, Georgia, and Cincinnati.

in a Tri-Cities jersey this season, he ended the summer on a high note and showed out at some notable camps this fall. Wingfield is a 6’7 bruiser that can score from anywhere on the court. His skillset is extremely well-versed, able to knock down shots and generate offense from the perimeter while he can also take defenders down to the post and score using a variety of moves. Currently holds 7 offers and should add several more in the spring.
