With the state tournament upon us, now is a good time to highlight some players to watch. Here we complete our analysis of unsigned seniors to watch from the 4A and 3A classifications respectively.

CHRIS ASAMOAH | MAGRUDER

Asamoah has a picture-perfect jumper and a lightning-quick release. This Magruder team is sneaky-good and will certainly need him to score in order to contend.

JAHDEL DAREGO | GAITHERSBURG

Darego's role is magnified given the loss of standout Chris Kouemi to injury. He should be able to live up to the task. Darego is a reliable back-to-the-basket scorer who can block and alter shots with his length defensively. He's also productive and active on the boards.

JOMO GOINGS | CHURCHILL

Goings is coming off a memorable regular season in which he averaged an efficient 25-points per game, propelling his team to a 1-seed and a first-round bye in the west region. Can the "slim reaper" keep it going?

TYREKE HERBERT | LEONARDTOWN

Herbert is a blue-collar guard who does a bit of everything well. He put up locker-combo type stats throughout the regular season: double-digit points with a handful of boards and dimes sprinkled in. Leonardtown has a tough first-round matchup against a good Broadneck squad and in order to advance, Herbert will need to be on his A-game.

JORDAN OATES | ATHOLTON

Oates is as intriguing a long-term prospect as you will find in the state tournament. He's got a strong frame with good length and an ever-improving skill set that includes the ability to consistently make shots from distance. Could this tournament be his coming-out party?

RYAN SAUNDERSON | RESERVOIR

Saunderson was an important glue guy in Reservoir's run to Xfinity last season. This year, he will have a much bigger role with the departure of Josh Odunowo. He's capable of not only scoring but facilitating the offense and competing defensively as well. Can he take his game to another level and lead his team back to another state championship game?
