Rondel Walker – 2020 – Putnam City West
Walker had an impressive 30 point performance against Tulsa Union, knowing down four three-pointers in the matchup. As the game progressed, Walker used his shooting as a way to draw defenders out and attack the basket, leading to many opportunities at the free-throw line. His ability to use off-ball screens and create space for himself allows him to get wide-open looks he can knockdown.
Jeremiah Johnson – 2023 – Putnam City North
Johnson played with great poise and confidence knocking down four threes of his own against the OKC Storm. Two of his threes came in transition, as the other were catch and shoot opportunities. One major takeaway from Johnson’s performance was that he forced nothing, all scoring opportunities came naturally and he looked very smooth with the basketball.
Christian Cook – 2020 – Midwest City
Cook’s game comes to him as smooth as any player you watch and that proved true once again this weekend. Knocking down the three with consistency and letting his opportunities come to him, Cook got to work and forced teams to prioritize him as a threat on the offensive end.
Ben Emmert – Norman – 2020
Emmert’s quick trigger and ability to block out his defender’s late contest makes him one of the deadliest shooters in the Norman area. While primarily getting his shots from catch and shoot situations, Emmert can put the ball on the floor and create his own opportunities to get a shot off. His unique size and lankiness allows him to elevate up and over defenders and knock down shots from anywhere on the court.
Colby Onyekuru – Edmond Sante Fe – 2021
Onyekuru got hot in Edmond Sante Fe’s matchup with Deer Creek, knocking down three quick three-pointers in a row, extending Sante Fe’s lead to a comfortable margin and allowing them to settle into a rhythm. Onyekuru has a unique jumper but it gets the job done, and his size only helps as he can easily rise up and knock down shots with little to no contest.
