In the past teams have been able to stay close to LeGrand to contest his shooting ability but his improved court vision and ability to get to the basket has allowed him to expand his game.
This year Herriman has a tough schedule and they have high expectations as well. Everyone is looking forward to a few games on the schedule and so is LeGrand. “There is a few games I’m looking forward to, I would say, Skyridge and Fremont”. Those two games would create some fun match ups with Duncan Reid at Skyridge and Dallin Hall and Baylor Harrop of Fremont. “We played both of them this Spring and Summer and we had some good games. Both teams have really good back courts and I’m excited to go up against them.”
“I’ve been working a lot on my handles this off-season. I’ve been playing point guard my whole like so making the transition from shooting guard shouldn’t be hard.” LeGrand has looked very good runing the point in the games we have seen him play.
This year LeGrand hopes to lead Herriman to new heights. With a team that has been playing together since 6th grade the connections on and off the court are different.
LeGrand currently hold two offers, one from Southwest Oregon College and Umpqua College both in the Pacific Northwest.
Last season Legrand hit 52 three-pointers. With the transition to point guard one might think his 3-point production would decrease, but after watching him play we actually think it might go up. “My off-season training has helped my work ethic go up to another level. With all the basketball that I was able to play this Spring and Summer which has helped me stay more composed.”
LeGrand is one of those shifty point guards that you cant leave open bevause he will knock down those outside jumpers. He plays great defense.
