1. Marvin Johnson Edmond North 6’5
Johnson is one of the most talented players in Oklahoma. Academics may force Johnson to attend a JUCO, but there is no question Johnson has Division I potential. The athleticism of Johnson at 6’5 make him very tough to stop. Driving to the basket Johnson does a great job of finishing around the rim. Johnson will be a well known name by the end of the year at Edmond North.
2. Tony Hall Broken Arrow 6’5
Hall is one of the most under the radar players in Oklahoma. At Broken Arrow Hall plays very efficiently on the wing. Hall is long, athletic and has a nice jumper. When his teammates are finding him on the wing for open looks Hall is most effective. Division II schools will be clamoring to get Hall by the time April rolls around.
3. Nick Robinson PC West 6’4
Robinson is a multi-sport star that is headed to Memphis for Football. Last year Robinson helped lead the Patriots to the Class 6A Gold Ball. Two players graduated from the PC West Championship team. Robinson will hope to finish off his career with back-to-back titles. On the Wing Robinson is a very athletic player with a great finish in traffic. He is one of the top defenders in the state.
4. Ben Pruitt Ada 6’5
Playing in Class 4A at Ada Pruitt does not get the recognition he deserves. Last year Pruitt was the driving force behind the Cougars getting to the Class 4A State Tournament. At the Small Forward spot Pruitt is a great rebounder and brings toughness on the defensive end. Pruitt is a knock down shooter on the wing. He is not scared of the big moments and wants the ball in his hands.
5. Brantly Thompson Tuttle 6’4
Thompson has several Division II offers on the table with the brilliant summer he had playing for the OKC Wizards. He is not going to blow you away with his athleticism, but is Mr. Fundamental on the court. Over the summer Thompson improved his jumper from three-point range immensely. It will be interesting to see where Thompson ends up.
6. Owen Atkinson Putnam City 6’6
Atkinson comes in at #6 on the Small Forwards list he also made the Top Ten 2017 Oklahoma Posts list as well. He is a player that could play at the 3 on the wing in the right system at the next level. This offseason Atkinson has improved his jumper and his ball handling skills. With his improved skills Atkinson looks to play more on the perimeter this season at Putnam City.
7. Kyle Dortch Fort Gibson 6’4
Dortch is not going to blow coaches away with his athleticism, but will with his ability to have a positive effect on the game in many different ways. On the floor Dortch constantly is hustling, battling and doing everything he can to make his team win. Dortch is a crafty wing that has improved his mid-range and behind the arc jumper. Defensively Dortch gives opponents fits with his great effort. Several Division II programs have been in touch with him.
8. Barron Tanner Bartlesville 6’5
Tanner is a 6’5 prospect that has been put in the post his high school career due to the lack of size in Oklahoma. But Tanner has proven on the grassroots circuit he can play at the 3. This summer Tanner displayed his athleticism on the Wing playing for Playmaker Express. He is most effective as a defensive stopper with his shot blocking ability. On offense Tanner dominates from mid-range. Tanner has received attention from a few Division II schools.
9. Mason Wiggins Roland 6’5
Wiggins is a long Wing that will surprise you with his athleticism at times. He has upside with untapped potential. On the Wing Wiggins can score from all three levels. The length of Wiggins gives opponents trouble in the passing lanes. He will have the chance to draw Division II interest with a good senior year at Roland. Wiggins will be the leader on and off the court for Roland this year.
10.Quantrell Jackson Mustang 6’4
Jackson is a very athletic wing with great potential. Over the past couple seasons Jackson has been in a reserve role with the Broncos, but this year that will change with the graduation of a huge senior class. Jackson is good at driving to the basket. To take his game to another level Jackson must improve his outside jumper.
