“My game is highlighted by my strong handles and my ability to get to the rim,” Tandy said. “But mainly breaking my man down, and I can be a defender.”
As of now, the player currently holds scholarship offers from three college programs: Oklahoma, New Mexico State and Western Kentucky. Along with the offers, Tandy said he is receiving interest from Louisville, Ohio State and Michigan, and says more coaches and schools should start to reach out because he is unselfish.
“I’m unselfish,” Tandy stated. “I like getting people involved. I do my part. I can break my man down every time and make the defense nervous. And I can play defensive full court.”
Tandy played a dominant role in the Blazers’ success last season. The athlete averaged 26.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per contest and also dished out a significant amount of assists. This year, Tandy wants to just be successful.
“My main goal is to be over .500%,” Tandy told me. “I also want to win the Classic A-State Tournament and go to the State Tournament this year after winning Region.”
On the AAU Circuit this summer, the guard played with We All Can Go on the Nike EYBL.
In the classroom, Tandy says he is a hard-worker.
“I am a good student,” Tandy said. “I don’t get in trouble at all. I work hard in the classroom. I make the grades.”
Tandy is going to continue to work hard both on and off the court to attract more college programs.
