6’2″ Sr. Dallin Hall – Fremont
Whether it was on offense or defense, Dallin Hall showed the classic why he is currently a top 10 player in Utah. Hall was arguably the most consistent player on both sides of the floor. His offense speaks for itself, as he consistently puts up points in the masses from behind the arc, in transition and short pull-up jumpers. Hall’s array of dribbling moves, passes, shots and finishes might not have been the best part about his game, but his tenacity on the boards and man to man defense is just the thing to set him apart in the upcoming season.
6’0″ Sr. Hunter Humphreys – Alta
The Top-30 prospect out of Alta did not disappoint. The absolute speed demon was on a tear, even deep in the second half, as most players seemed to be winding down, Humphreys, saw opportunity. The senior got into the paint with ease making layup after layup, dish after dish and getting to the line. His quick handles and ability to see the court made him a threat in transition and in the half court game. His crisp shooting and pinpoint passes finished it off. Humphrey’s quick hands on defense made him a challenging opponent all night.
5’10” Jr. Noah Madsen – Westlake
Madsen wasn’t even playing in a game I was spectating, he was at the adjacent court. During timeouts I found myself watching the game, and watching him. Every time out this player did something impressive. The lightning quick Madsen was the fastest player on the court. He knew exactly what to do with the ball each time. He was decisive and accurate with his passing. He had good handles and a great three point shot to go with it, but Madsen said he prefers to be a pass-first point guard. The unranked Guard out of Westlake, most certainly left an impression.
6’2″ Jr. Bodi Nageli – Herriman
The sharp shooter seemed like he couldn’t miss from beyond the arc over the weekend. Nageli was on a tear, and when the shot wasn’t there, he took it to the hoop with tenacity while cradling the ball like a Derrick Rose throwback. His IQ for the game took him to the next level, as he found himself wide open more times than not after a hard cut to the basket. Perfect execution. His tough demeanor on defense rounded out the Junior nicely.
6″0 Sr. Tige Voorhes – Fremont
The European style player was another that was on fire from beyond the arc. After his shooting, his smooth passing and overall feel and ease for the game were the big standouts. Right place, right time. The high IQ and fluidity of Voorhes’ game was on full display with quick cuts, timely passing and always gravitating to the open part of the floor.
6’3″ Jr. Deandre Randolph – Alta
This athletic wing had arguably the best on ball defense of the showcase. This was evident by forcing Fremont’s, Dallin Grant, into trouble and not allowing him into the paint on more than just a few occasions. His non-stop motor and rebounding skills are what first stood out for Randolph. He also showed the ability to shoot from range consistently and drive and dish to the open man.
