He does not have the I am better than everyone attitude let me shoot it every time up the floor. Instead, Cortes shared the ball getting each and every one of his teammates involved. The talent is there without a doubt plus the school who lands his talents won’t have to worry about him buying in 110% to the team. He is so great at creating, running the Point and getting everyone involved there are times you want to see him take over the game scoring at will. We saw flashes of just that when he attacked the basket at the Midwest Showcase.
I am not a big fan of comparing guys games to NBA players. However, in this instance, I like the comparison of Bijan Cortes to Ricky Rubio with the style of play each brings to the floor. By the end of the Midwest Showcase Cortes showed other NCAA Division I High Major programs why Oklahoma and Oklahoma State have extended offers to him. Expect him to start drawing High Major offers from out of state programs very soon.
