The Tigers have one of the more impressive rosters from top-to-bottom. Transfer point guard Trentez Scales joins a group of returning starters. The Tigers’ core from last season is back for 2019-2020 and we got an early look at what Norman could be in Stillwater.
Ben Emmert 2020 wing
Ben Emmert is the senior go-to leader and scorer for Norman. The returning starter was a one of the most versatile scorers at the Oklahoma State Team Camp, shooting the ball well from long- and mid-range while also playing from the high post and scoring inside. Emmert is also a competitive rebounder and can easily amass a double-double.
Jonah Paden 2020 forward
Much like Emmert, Paden is a returning scorer for the Tigers who can put the ball in the basket from multiple spots in the floor. Paden, who plays wide receiver for Norman, is an especially versatile athlete. He can stretch the floor from the outside, but can also handle his own in the paint.
Trentez Scales 2020 point guard
Trentez Scales is the major addition to Norman’s rotation for the 2019-2020 season. The senior point guard joins the Tigers’ roster as its part-time on-ball floor general and primary off-ball shooter from the spot. Scales is a crafty, athletic guard who can penetrate to the rack and score or draw the foul and gives the Tigers a more compete attack.
Dalen Richards 2020 wing
Dalen Richards added great scoring, defense and passing to Norman’s attack last weekend. He’s an athletic-bodied perimeter player who can shoot the ball well and drive-in. Richards moves exceptionally well with the ball in his hands and finishes well at the rim.
Jaden Bray 2021 point guard
Jaden Bray is another player who can attack the rim and score with the basketball consistently. Bray is as athletic a point guard as I saw in Stillwater last weekend and has tremendous speed, agility and finesse when transporting the basketball. Additionally, Bray played the floor general role and did an exceptional job at setting up teammates.
