The games were broken up in a Top 40 and Top 20 format with some Top 40’s playing their way into the Top 20 game of their respective classes.
Here are some standouts from the Top 40 class of 2021 game.
Elijah Evans, Dominguez
Evans might have been the guy who helped his stock the most at the event. The 6-foot-4 wing came in relatively unknown and left with his name planted firmly on the radar. Evans is a rangy wing with ball skills, quickness, jump shooting ability, and, most importantly, he plays with a lot of confidence and a big chip on his shoulder.
Elijah Evans put his name firmly on the radar in 2021 after a strong performance at the Pangos Best of SoCal Showcase.Lendl Henderson, Jr., Bakersfield Christian
Henderson was along the same lines as Evans as he came in as a lesser-known name, but left a huge impression on teammates, opponents and scouts/media in attendance. Henderson, who stands at 6-feet-6, has nice size for the wing position and shoots an extremely smooth ball with range.
Izaac Martinez, Bakersfield Ridgeview
Martinez was another Bakersfield prospect to make a name for himself in this game. The 5-foot-11 combo guard had his crafty scoring ability on display from the outset. Martinez not only hit the open 3-point shot with consistency, but he also has some mid-range game in his arsenal to keep the defense guessing.
TJ Muhammad, Crossroads
One thing you can say about Muhammad is that he always competes no matter what the setting is. The 5-foot-9 point guard plays with a high motor on both ends of the floor, communicates well on defense, and picks up his defensive assignment baseline-to-baseline. Muhammad did a nice job of probing the paint and setting up teammates on the offensive end.
Devin Walker-Lewis, Los Altos
Walker-Lewis used his strong 6-foot-4 frame to expose mismatches on the offensive end. He can knock down an open catch-and-shoot triple or mid-range jumper, but can also take smaller defenders into the paint and finish through them or over them.
