The games were broken up in a Top 40 and Top 20 format with some Top 40’s playing their way into the Top 20 game of their respective classes.
Here are some standouts from the Top 20 class of 2020 game.
Judah Brown, Pacifica Christian
Brown had the most eye-popping performance of the day as his combination of length and athleticism proved to be the perfect fit for this type of setting. The 6-foot-6 wing had a handful of transition poster dunks and made his mark on the defensive end with some impressive blocked shots.
SIx-foot-6 Pacifica Christian wing Judah Brown was unstoppable at the Pangos Best of SoCal Showcase.Jaylen Clark, Corona Centennial
Clark’s size and strength at 6-feet-5 will always make him a difficult cover in an up-and-down transition setting. The Corona Centennial wing is nearly impossible to keep out of the paint when he gets downhill and his strong frame allows him to absorb and finish through contact.
Bradley Ezewiro, Bishop Montgomery
Ezewiro was another guy who dominated the painted area with his strength and explosive leaping ability. The 6-foot-8 power forward was rim-running with purpose and was rewarded for it as his guards found him on the break for easy dunks. Ezewiro was crashing the offensive glass, as well, earning him and his team second-chance scoring opportunities.
Keith Dinwiddie, Fairfax
Dinwiddie is one of the more explosive scorers in the class and Saturday was no different. The 6-foot-2 shooting guard can fill it up with jumpers on the perimeter, but he also attacks the rim well in the half-court setting and finishes above the rim.
TJ Wainwright, Santa Monica
Wainwright has become well-known for his knock down shooting ability from 3-point range, and he’s certainly still that player, but it was good to see him look to get to the rim in the half-court. The 6-foot lefty attacked poor closeouts and put pressure on the rim with paint touches. Wainwright is a 2021 prospect, but we decided to put him in this write-up because it was his best performance of the day.
