RYAN CONWAY | 6’1 G | 17U TEAM MELO/DULANEY ‘21
Ryan Conway not only proved that he can score in bunches at the highest level, but also be effective on the defensive end. Conway mixed it up nicely on offense and showed the ability to consistently break down defenders off the bounce and get in the paint. He consistently stayed in front of his man while guarding the ball, communicated, and demonstrated solid intangibles.
PRESTON HOWARD | 6’6 F | 15U TEAM MELO/MCDONOGH ‘22
It didn’t take long to see that Preston Howard can facilitate an offense from the low or high post. Howard is an exceptional passer with the size to see over top of the defense and the instincts to quickly read the defense. He also used his size to be a presence on the glass. Howard has a good second jump and given his length is adept at tapping the ball out to his teammates.
EFREM JOHNSON | 6’2 G | 15U BOO WILLIAMS/WESTERN BRANCH ‘22
Efrem Johnson is a long-limbed guard who showed the ability to make plays on both ends of the floor. Defensively, he pressured the ball well and did a nice job distorting passing lanes with active hands. Johnson was best offensively in transition, where his burst helped him blow by defenders and his touch gave him the ability to finish consistently in traffic.
AMINU MOHAMMED | 6’5 G/F | 17U BOO WILLIAMS/GREENWOOD LAB ‘21
He definitely has good size, length, and athleticism, but at this point Aminu Mohammed’s biggest selling point has to be his effort. Mohammed is a relentless rebounder and will fight for every 50/50 ball in or out of his area. He has great body control and is a crafty finisher in traffic around the basket. Another thing he does well is jump stop in the lane and utilize shot fakes to keep the defense guessing.
DEON PERRY | 5’9 G | 15U TEAM MELO/MT. CARMEL ‘22
Deon Perry was thoroughly impressive during Team Melo’s win over Boo to start the day. The first thing that stood out was his quickness. Perry has the ability to get wherever he wants to on the floor when you consider that along with his handle. He showcased an array of finishes in the lane to go along with a few floaters which were effective. Defensively, Perry smothered his man, dove on the floor whenever necessary, and his overall activity resulted in a number of steals as well as deflections.
