Alder has to be feeling real good, after a win like this. It must be noted how well Alder stuck to the gameplan an executed it’s offense. Now, for the players…
Impact Players:
Jackson Izzard (6’2” / WG 2021 / Jonathan Alder): Jackson Izzard was a flat-out stud on Saturday night for the Pioneers. A scoring factor that couldn’t be stopped, totaling 21 points. Izzard can get to the rim with good control, also, a smooth jumper that he can rise above on. Also, a major factor on the boards, the sophomore snatched 11 rebounds. A solid vertical, Izzard skies for rebounds over bigger defenders continuously. Definitely the top player from this Sectional matchup.
Jack Santa-Emma (5’11” / G 2020 / Jonathan Alder): Jonathan Alder is very lucky to have a floor general as good as Santa-Emma. The junior has a good vision for the floor, and running the offense. Basically, a coach out on the floor, Santa-Emma gets things moving on the hardwood for the Pioneers. A 10 point, eight rebound, six assist showing just goes to show how much the lead guard can affect the game. Also, nabbing two steals, Santa-Emma was quick in the passing lanes. However, an impressive showing for the Junior.
Jacob Koenig (5’10” / WG 2019 / Jonathan Alder): The Senior possesses a lot of the leadership qualities that separates him from the rest of the pack. A 12 point and three rebound performance, Koenig was a big part of the Pioneers blowing the game wide open. A solid defender for Alder, Koenig didn’t allow his man to get many clean looks at all. As a whole, Jonathan Alder has been lucky to have an athlete like this for the last 4 years.
Jack Rotondo (6’2” / WG 2021 / Buckeye Valley): A bad night for Buckeye Valley, Jack Rotondo was a bright spot. Canning four three-pointers for the Barons, Rotondo was on fire from deep. Showing a quick release, Rotondo was able to get his shot up whenever he wanted. The spot up shooter has great confidence in his shot, which you like to see from a sophomore. Rotondo seems to also have a nice hince of athleticism, possessing the tools to be a good defender down the road. A part of the real good underclass that Buckeye Valley should have fans excited for in the future!
