PG Jelani Williams | Sidwell Friends
Jelani led his team to the championship in the Greivis Vasquez bracket. The 6-foot-5 rising senior demonstrated a terrific feel for the game at the lead guard spot. He exhibited good vision and passing skills. Jelani was crafty off the bounce and showcased good paint getting ability. He was also very vocal and did a good job communicating to his teammates.
C Nate Watson | Bishop O’Connell
Nate was the anchor for Bishop O’Connell as they went on to capture the championship in the Alex Len Bracket. The 6-foot-9 big man did a good job anticipating the passing lanes as the back line of the press, showing off his high level athleticism. He was a dominant presence on the glass who always attacked the ball at it’s highest point. He was a big target in the low post, and was very efficient around the basket. Nate kept the ball high, and easily finished through contact.
SG Darryl Morsell | Mount St. Joseph
Mount St. Joe’s were crowned champions in the Dez Wells bracket, and Darryl Morsell was the engine that propelled their run. He demonstrated a great deal of versatility on both ends of the floor. He impressed with his decision making, and processed things quickly with the ball in his hands. He was aggressive and explosive on offense, and that translated defensively as well. Morsell is a high level athlete with a ridiculous motor to go along with a high basketball IQ.
C Curtis Mitchell | Georgetown Prep
Curtis displayed a solid skill set all weekend. The 6-foot-9 big man finished efficiently through contact, and is a very capable mid range shooter. He reacted quickly to missed shots, and has good strong hands when securing rebounds. His footwork on the low block was solid. Fundamentals were his strong suit.
PG Ryan Allen | DeMatha
Ryan made his impact felt on both ends of the court. He was tenacious defensively, and used his quick feet to stay in front of his man. Offensively, the lefty demonstrated a soft touch from long range. He attacks the rim relentlessly, and seeks contact on his drives. He had a consistent motor all weekend, and showed good leadership intangibles.
PG Coby Davis | Maret
Coby is a lockdown defender with a high IQ and a terrific work rate. He’s a high level athlete, who has the ability to pull up on a dime and hit consistently from mid-range. He changes speeds well, and has solid paint getting ability. He finishes efficiently in traffic.
SG Elijah Clarance | St. Maria Goretti
Elijah is a talented scorer from all three levels. The 6-foot-4 rising senior demonstrates a high skill level and is very explosive off the bounce. He changes speeds well and knows how to create space off the dribble and works well to get open off the ball. He’s a solid slasher with a soft touch. He’s an exceptional defender as a result of his length, athleticism, and motor.
