Fayetteville Academy vs Wayne Christian: FA is the top seed and feature one of the top guards in the state in John Michael Wright to go along with Forward William Oyeondi and Emmanuel Izunabor. However Wayne Christian has some players of their own that can flat out go, freshman Jadon Young is averaging over 26 PPG while Senior Jamal King who is headed to Winthrop is averaging 21 a night.
Wayne Country Day vs Trinity Academy: Big time players make big time plays in big time games, so we are expecting a monster night from Isaiah Todd. This will be their last home game of the season and possibly Todd’s last home game at Trinity Academy in his high school career as he may reclass into 2019. So don’t be surprised to see him have a monster night, putting up some big time numbers to help his team advance.
Calvary Day vs Hickory Christian: Calvary Day is the underdog in this matchup, but don’t be shocked to see this game go to the wire. Why? Well when you have a senior Guard like Jackson Gammons on your squad, you simply don’t go out easily. Gammons can absolutely fill it up scoring wise and is one that the Citadel is looking forward to having on campus next year, if he starts to get it going, then things kid could get interesting pretty quickly.
Grace Christian (Raleigh) vs High Point Christian: This has a chance to be a good one, Grace Christian has put together some nice performances this year, recently winning their conference championship. However HPCA’s combo of 2021 Guard KJ Garrett, 2020 Forward Zach Shumate and 2020 Guard Landon Sutton are all players that can go off on a scoring run at any given moment.
Ravenscroft vs Providence Day: Another game that could develop into a good one, anytime you loss as much firepower as PDS has, things can be a little difficult the following year. However they have put together a solid season, Ravenscroft has struggled somewhat but anytime you have a player like Senior Forward Jake Van Der Heijden on your squad, you have to like your chances as he is a physical player that can come up with a double/double at any given time.
