Continue ReadingMilwaukee Washington already had two bona fide superstars in and Michael Foster Jr. Deontay Long. Now, you can insert freshman phenom, Tre White. The five-star guard transferred to Milwaukee Washington on February 7th. White previously played for Little Elm High School which is located in Texas.
Last night, Tre White made his Wisconsin debut. White scored 21 points on eight made field goals and was a big reason why Washington was able to pull off the convincing win. Despite having little time to prepare, White was still able to make an impact on his new squad. He was solid on defense and was a good facilitator for the Purgolders. In his first game at Milwaukee Washington, White seemed to make a seamless transition. White looked like he fit in on the court, but also off it. In a postgame interview, he said that his new team felt like “family” and also called it a “brotherhood.”
With the addition of Tre White, Milwaukee Washington could become a more serious title contender. Nicolet may still be the frontrunner in terms of championship favorites, but White’s transfer could lead to a shifting of the power in the title race. Prior to White’s transfer, the D-2 crown looked like it was already locked up by Nicolet. But what may have previously been a one-team race, just got a lot more interesting.
