Familiar Faces
David Ward 2018 Webster Wing
Ward is starting to figure things out of the offensive end. He drove to the basket strong and finished well around the rim. In the past he has resorted to spotting up and jacking three-point shots, but the last month Ward has began to find his stride. He has found a great mix of driving the basketball along with his three-point shot. Ward projects as a Division I prospect.
RJ Fuqua 2017 Booker T. Washington Point Guard
Fuqua is widely known across Oklahoma with his great handles, high IQ, ability to score the basketball and play tough defense. Friday at Tulsa Team Camp Fuqua caught fire from three-point range finding his rhythm. When Fuqua is hitting from three-point range it makes his drive to the basket even better. Fuqua does the small things on the court. He has great instincts at the Point. The 2017 Point Guard has two offers currently from Oral Roberts and Houston Baptist expect more Division I schools to express interest in him following this spring.
Jaycson Bereal 2018 Booker T. Washington Wing
Bereal is a long wing that continues to impress with his freak athleticism. He stands at 6’7 with the ability to take his defender off the dribble and finish around the rim. Friday he was aggressive on both ends of the floor. Defensively Bereal guarded the best player on the opponents team a 6’2 quick guard. Bereal used his length and good footwork to stay in front of the quicker guard. Bereal holds two offers from Oral Roberts and Tulsa. Expect more to come his way over the next year and a half. The biggest thing that would take his game to the next level is being able to hit the jumper consistently.
Josh Procter 2018 Owasso Combo Guard
Procter will end up playing football, but his basketball talent is something you can not ignore. He handled the ball very well at Tulsa Team Camp. Procter got going from behind the arc Friday. He has good touch on his jumper. Procter plays very good defense with his footwork and quickness.
New Faces
Seth Hurd 2019 Booker T. Washington Forward
Hurd is starting to find his stride with the Hornets in the paint. He rebounded the ball well boxing out his opponent inside. Hurd finished well around the basket taking advantage of his second chance opportunities. He is starting to improve on his post moves with his back to the basket.
Aaron Lucas 2017 Booker T. Washington Combo Guard
Lucas plays off the ball for the majority of the time at Booker T. Washington however in college he will play at the one. He finds his spots on the floor and dissects the defense. Lucas has a nice outside jumper and an even better pull up jumper from mid-range off the bounce. College coaches will love the hustle, quickness, and defense Lucas brings to the table. Prep Hoops projects him as a Division II to NAIA player at the next level.
Ben Dykes 2017 Owasso Shooting Guard
He shot the ball well from behind the arc. Dykes drives the ball strong to the hoop despite his small stature. Dykes spaces the floor well, which allows him to get open shots. Dykes projects as a Division III to NAIA Division II player at the next level.
Champ Bridges 2017 Chouteau-Maize Point Guard
Bridges is a small undersized point guard that plays as if he is 6’2. He is doing everything he can non-stop on the floor to make his team better. Bridges shoots the basketball exceptionally well from behind the arc. He uses his quickness to exploit the defense. Bridges must continue to work on his ball handling and defense to reach another level. Bridges is projected as a NAIA prospect.
Noah Rosamond 2017 Chouteau-Maize Shooting Guard
Rosamond quickly jumped out at you at the two guard. He can shoot the ball as a spot up shooter on the wing. He must improve his ball handling to drive better, but did show spurts of solid slashes to the hoop. Rosamond is a sleeper Division III or NAIA D2 player.
