A forward who’s working to develop his guard skill-set, Clyce is and adept shooter from 15-feet and in, and keeps his focus on the defensive side of the ball.
“As a player my strengths are the mid-range game, and I try to focus on defense, especially if my shot is not falling. I like to keep the energy up so we can have the momentum on our side most of the game,” said Clyce.
“Right now, my main focus is becoming a guard. I don’t really think I’m going to get taller, so I’m working on my ball-handling and shooting the 3-ball consistently.”
As a sophomore at Pebblebrook, Clyce has thrived as a role player. He plays stout D and scores when needed.
“As a sophomore, my scoring is limited to a certain extent, just because of the other amazing scorers we have on the team,” said Clyce. “I’ll help them out scoring here and there if they’re in a drought.”
When his sophomore season is complete, Clyce will head into an important 16U offseason with AOT. He could see his recruitment ramp up in the spring and summer; right now, he says Georgia is sending letters, Georgia State has been in the gym looking at him and Wofford and Canisius have been interested.
“My main focus this summer is to help us qualify for Peach Jam, that was cool for us last year,” said Clyce. “And then to get better as a person and better as a player on the court so I can get more looks.”
