He is a great two way player that has a high basketball IQ, he can handle, pass, but ultimately it is shooting that is going to help a division one program out next year. So far nobody has been able to beat Roselle this year and the schedule has not been easy. They play in multiple national events this year and it has been all fun and games for Rogers and his teammates.
“The season has been going good, we have a good amount of national wins so everything is on the rise. It has been a lot of fun.”
When asked what he wants to get out of these national events his team is playing at, he said, “A win first and foremost, you don’t ever want to play in a big time environment and lose so definitely try and pick up as many wins as possible.”
His good grades and high basketball IQ has helped him get noticed by some of the best division one academic schools in the country, “I am hearing the most from Princeton, Wagner and Boston U.
The IVY league has been getting some good players into their league the past few years and he likes what Princeton has to offer, “Princeton is definitely good, I took an unofficial visit there this fall and I really liked it. The campus is bigger than I thought and they actually have a nice schedule, they play all the big teams and I really like that.”
Boston U just started reaching out to Roger’s but things are picking up for both parties, “I have not taken a visit there yet because they just came on the scene recently and they just started recruiting me pretty heavily.”
Wagner was the first school to receive an official visit from Colby, “I took an official there in September during their homecoming and it was pretty good. It was my first official so I will just have to see how everything plays out.”
When asked when he would like to make a decision, Rogers said, “I don’t really have a set time, just going to wait and see if I can get anything else out of this and if I can’t, I will take whatever is on the table and make a decision so ideally Spring.”
