Wallace is coming off a standout campaign on the gridiron, and is considering playing both sports in college. He discussed that and much more during a recent interview with Prep Hoops.
PH: Which schools are recruiting you the hardest right now?
JW: “For football, I just got offered by UMass. I’ve also been talking to Maryland and Kentucky. For basketball, just Binghamton.”
PH: When are you going to figure out what you want to do?
JW: “Probably early 2019. January or February.”
PH: What are you leaning towards?
JW: “That’s what I’ve got to decide, and then I’ll be ready.”
PH: What type of feedback do you receive from college coaches?
JW: “They like how physical I look, and how hard I play in either sport.”
PH: What is the most underrated part of your game on the court?
JW: “I would say my jump shot. Everybody knows I play defense, but I can shoot too.”
PH: How are your test scores?
JW: “I took the ACT, I’m waiting for that score. I’m going to take the SAT in February.”
PH: What’s your GPA?
JW: “3.0 last quarter. Core is a 2.6.”
PH: What are your goals?
JW: “To win the WCAC Championship.”
PH: What do you think you can bring to a college program?
JW: “Toughness, energy, and someone who’s going to play hard all the time.”
PH: Is there a chance that you are going to play both sports in college?
JW: “There is a chance. There’s a chance.”
PH: What school do you think you can do that at?
JW: “I feel like I can do it at any school I go to.”
