2020 Deivon Smith Recruitment Update
Atlanta, GA – The 6-foot-1 point guard Deivon Smith out of Grayson High School (Loganville, Georgia) has become an elite sleeper prospect here in the peach state. Smith has worked on his game during his first two seasons at Grayson and is now becoming an extreme threat when he is on the floor. Smith is coming off a summer where he ran with the Atlanta Celtics in the Adidas Gauntlet.
Deivon’s lone two offers he holds so far and earned during the summer are from UAB and Old Dominion. He has told me Butler, Miami, Georgia, Alabama, Cincinnati, Mercer, and Tennessee State have also expressed interest in him. Indiana State, South Alabama, Butler, Georgia State, Tennessee State, Old Dominion, UAB, Alabama, Georgia, VCU, Miami, and Cincinnati have all been in to see the junior point guard during this evaluation period his high school coach tells me.
Deivon has only taken one unofficial to visit to Georgia and plans on visiting Butler and others pretty soon. College coaches will sure be in to take a look at the 6-foot-1 point guard during his junior campaign and into the next summer circuit. He is an elite prospect here in the southeast. Smith is an incredible athlete who size should not be overlooked. He has great bounce and is able to penetrate on the offensive side of the ball and has the vision to locate his teammates. Smith is a shot making point guard and his shot making abilities will certainly help him in the long run.
