MD/DC Top 250 Underclassmen Standouts
This past Saturday, Park School played host to the Prep Hoops MD/DC Top 250 Exposure Camp. There was a ton of talent on the floor and lots of different prospects made a name for themselves. The Prep Hoops MD/DC team are starting to dish out their awards from the camp. In this piece I take a look at some of the top underclassmen that were in attendance.
2021 Devin Ceaser | St. Mary’s Ryken
Devin was arguably the best performer at the camp on Saturday. The sophomore is currently listed at 5’10 and is poised for a big year at St. Mary’s Ryken. He showed off his great speed and quickness all day in which he was able to get to his spots with ease. He got passed anybody and everybody that was defending him and basically was doing whatever he wanted with the ball. Another thing that really stood out was his shooting ability. He was making shots from all over the court and our guy Colby wrote about him being one of the top shooters https://prephoops.com/2018/09/md-top-250-underclassmen-shooters/
2021 James Gross | Rock Creek Christian Academy
Gross showed off his versatility and leaping ability all day long. The sophomore from Rock Creek is standing at 6’2 right now and is going to be a problem this year. He finishes tremendously above the rim, while he is always in attack mode. He is strong and can bully a lot of his opponents. He is a very fun player to watch with the athleticism he brings to the court. Stay tuned for a recruiting update on Gross later on in the week.
2021 Terrance Butler | Bishop McNamara
Terrance was arguably one of the best big men on Saturday. He rebounded well and showed up some impressive low post moves with the ball in his hands. He did a good job on finishing shots over his defenders. He also brought down rebounds on both sides of the ball. The 6’7 forward will play an important role for Bishop McNamara this winter.
2021 David Brown | McDonogh
David was one of the most exciting players to watch on Saturday. Brown is currently listed at 6’4 and is a sophomore at McDonogh School. He is extremely dangerous in the open floor, can hit shots from a lot of different areas, rebounds on offense and defense and showed that he can get up and block shots. I was also impressed with his decision making and passing while going in transition.
2021 Jared Billups | McDonogh
Billups is another promising piece for McDonogh. The 6’5 sophomore is another versatile and athletic piece that will be fun to watch in Baltimore this upcoming season. Billups shot the ball well and got after it on defense.
