Tulsa Reynolds League: Under the Radar
Week two of the Tulsa Reynolds League featured several under the radar guys. The players listed in this article are making their names known for their terrific play on the court.
Freeway (2-0) 70 Team Grape (0-2) 63
Hardwork (1-2) 51 The Ballers (1-1) 66
Freeway (2-1) 48 Chargers (2-0) 72
Tayo Dina 2019 Bartlesville Wing (Chargers)
Dina was the best player at the Reynolds League this past Tuesday. He controlled the game from the tip scoring 20 points. Not only was he making plays scoring it from three and driving it inside, but Dina also brought it on defense. He chased down opposing guards swatting their shots by using his great athleticism. Due to the fact, Dina did not play a ton this summer he is flying unknown. Not only can Dina play at any small college level he also has an ACT of 31 with a great GPA. All of those factors will help land him at a college.
James Alexandre 2019 Tulsa Memorial Point Guard (Chargers)
Alexandre was a problem this past week driving the ball to the basket with ease. He has a nice finishing package that helps him to score amongst the trees despite being shorter. He leaned on his jumper at times too much but did make sure defenders were aware he can shoot the ball from mid and three-point range. Alexandre is rising up the recruiting charts of small colleges.
Evan Sadler 2020 Metro Christian Wing (Freeway)
Sadler is a Wing/Forward combo that has continued to have big performances for his squad throughout the first two weeks. Although he can score the ball well from all three levels, scoring was not his biggest contribution on the floor this past week. He was huge on the boards and also excelled at getting in the passing lanes. The long, lanky build mixed with his potential on the court is something for small colleges to take note.
Jordan McAlester 2019 Jenks Point Guard
McAlester played the best game I have ever seen him play last Tuesday night. He put on a scoring clinic scoring the first 11 points for his squad. What makes him so tough to stop is the factor of him being able to knock down jumpers from the outside or use his quickness off the dribble to blaze past the defense to the basket. McAlester is flying so far under the radar in the 2019 Oklahoma Class it is nuts. The young man has the opportunity to be a nice Point Guard for an NAIA program. He fits the KCAC best.
Lawrence King 2019 Union Guard (The Ballers)
King is the find of the Tulsa League. He brings it every game scoring the ball at a fast pace off the bounce. King is a one-man wrecking crew muscling his way to the basket. I fully expect King to be a guy everyone is aware of at Union before his senior year ends. He could play at the small college level and be effective at the one or the two.
Nathaniel Serna 2020 Collinsville Guard (Hardwork)
Serna is one of the fastest prospects in the Tulsa League. When he has his mind made up that he is going to drive to the basket there is not many who can slow him down. Serna still has some parts of his game to grow in shooting the basketball. Last Tuesday, Serna was terrific at finishing at the basket. It will be exciting to his game grow over the next two years at Collinsville.
Conner Calavan 2020 Fort Gibson Wing (Hardwork)
Calavan displayed his scoring talents with his deadeye three-pointer. Over the last year, Calavan has improved his quickness off the dribble, which has benefited his drive to the hoop. Now that defenders have to respect his ability to drive he is becoming much more difficult to stop.
Quentin Harvey 2019 Union Forward (The Ballers)
Harvey dominated the boards all game long making his living on both ends crashing the glass. The offensive glass allowed Harvey to cash in on second-chance points. The power Harvey shows in the paint is what you want to see in a four-man. Harvey also can shoot the three-pointer very accurately. Harvey is going to make a small college program very happy.
Caden Hale 2020 Metro Christain Wing (Freeway)
Hale found the bottom of the net all night long with an extremely accurate jumper. He plays super hard giving his all on both ends of the floor. The plays he makes for his team on defense were just as big as his huge baskets on offense. He hit jumpers late in the game to finish off the victory for Freeway. He was clutch, deadeye shooter, and a great hustle guy for Freeway.
Blaze Munoz 2020 Metro Christian Wing (Freeway)
Munoz scored the ball very well with a strong drive to the rim using his crafty moves to score the ball effectively. Munoz has great size and quickness two things that will make him a tough scorer to stop this next season at Metro. Look for Munoz to have a breakout year.
