Recruiting Report: Kamari Williams (2019)
Kamari Williams, a class of 2019 wing from St. Andrew’s Episcopal School (MD), recently narrowed down his list of prospective schools. Boston College, Monmouth, Quinnipiac, St. Bonaventure, Towson, UNC-Greensboro, and UMass are the seven schools he will consider moving forward. During a recent interview with Prep Hoops, Williams explained why he decided to move forward with each school.
“Boston College will be the first official visit I take. I am scheduled to visit September 6-8. I look forward to visiting the school.”
“I chose Monmouth because I feel like I have a good connection with their coaching staff. I feel like they would treat me right and push me to be the best player I can be.”
“I chose Quinnipiac because I love their style of play. I feel like I would be able to fit in and be a threat for their program.”
“St. Bonaventure was in the NCAA tourney last year, and they play an exciting style of basketball. They beat Maryland, Syracuse and UCLA last season.”
“I chose Towson because it is close to home, I have a lot of friends that go there, and I feel like I can also be a threat in their program.”
“I chose UNCG because I have a lot of family that lives down in North Carolina. It would feel like I’m home if I played down there.”
“UMass offered recently. Over the weekend actually. I have some familiarity with them because my uncle, Marcus Camby, played there. I have visited the campus numerous times.”
Kevin Jones, the Head Coach at St. Andrew’s, was available to offer some of his thoughts on Williams.
“I’m happy for Kamari and his family. He has worked hard to be in the position that he is in. His hard work and dedication to improving his game have been evident from the high school season through July. Which ever school he chooses will be getting a high character and very talented student athlete”
