2021 Rankings: Who’s Next?
Prep Hoops Wisconsin recently came out with our initial top 25 player rankings for the class of 2021. Which players are on the cusp of that list and primed to be in the next expanded update?
Bryson Clague (Grafton/Wisconsin Swing)
Averaged nearly 10 points per game as a freshman, leading a young Grafton team to eight wins. A 6-foot-1 guard that can stretch the floor and finish at the rim, there’s a lot to like about this youngster.
Jerand Kelly (Milwaukee Bradley Tech)
Kelly averaged 9.2 points and 7.4 rebounds per game during his freshman season. The 6-foot-6, 225-pound forward also shot above 53 percent from the floor. Kelly can handle the ball very well for his size and is a freight train in transition. Steadily improving his 3-point shot, Kelly was also a threat from beyond the arc last season.
Carter Lancaster (Darlington/Wisconsin Swing)
Statistically, Lancaster had one of the better seasons among freshman in the state of Wisconsin. Last year, Lancaster averaged 13.4 points per game and was named first-team All-Conference. Extremely consistent for his age, Lancaster was in double figures in all but three games last season.
J.C. Latham (Catholic Memorial/Phenom University)
Latham is going to be one of the best football prospects in the country, but he can also hoop as well. Playing up in the 16U level with Phenom University, Latham provides a toughness factor on the inside.
Dylan Lisitka (Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln/Wisconsin Playmakers)
A creating floor general that makes others better around him, Lisitka can also score when needed. He lives in the paint and puts pressure on defenses by getting into high percentage areas. Lisitka averaged 9.1 points per game for Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln, including five 15-point plus performances.
Cael McGee (Stoughton/Wisconsin Swing)
Caught a glimpse of McGee last season with the junior varsity and he was impressive. McGee also spent time with the varsity and was a valuable contributor off the bench, averaging 3.4 points per game. The lefty is a strong 3-point shooter with good size for the wing position and the potential to be a nice shot creator. Look for McGee to be one of the surprise players in the Badger South next season.
