Prospect Spotlight: Louis Tang (2019)
Louis Tang is embracing his leadership role this summer. The class of 2019 wing, who led Ryken in nearly every statistical category at the Capitol Hoops Summer League, is really coming into his own as he begins his second full year in the states. Tang described his maturation process and provided an update on his recruitment during a recent interview with Prep Hoops.
PH: What type of influence has Coach Booth had on you as a player?
LT: “When I first came here last year, I didn’t know anything. He brought me to every game with the District. I grew a lot because of him.”
PH: What is the most improved part of your game?
LT: “Probably being a leader. He keeps saying I gotta be a leader because I’m a senior this year.”
PH: What do you think you need to work on?
LT: “My dribbling, and my shot. I also have to get stronger.”
PH: How are your grades right now?
LT: “4.0.”
PH: Do you know what you want to study in college?
LT: “Business Management.”
PH: Who’s recruiting you right now?
LT: “Salisbury and St. Mary’s College. I also have some division two interest.”
PH: What’s something you do that could be overlooked?
LT: “I just keep talking. I gotta show my younger guys how to lead a team.”
PH: How do you get these guys to follow your lead?
LT: “Just tell them what they need to do. Sometimes when they do things wrong, I talk without scolding them.”
