Five Takeaways: 2021 Rankings
Yesterday we released our first version of our Class Of 2021 rankings. Right now we only have 35 players ranked but that list will certainly grow as time goes on. Below I take a look at some of the takeaways from the first releasing of the rankings.
Future Is Bright For St. John’s
This upcoming season St. John’s will try to finish in the top tier of the WCAC. If it does not happen this year, it very well could happen in years later on. They had four guys ranked in our initial top 35 list including the number one overall prospect, Victory Naboya. At number 6 came 6’4 shooting guard, Devon Savage who has showcased his skills in this summer so far in summer league. At the 24th spot we currently have 6’1 point guard, Saveon Jackson. Lastly, at 33 we currently have 5’8 point guard, Guy Fauntleroy.
Takeover Dominance
Team Takeover has shown all spring long that they currently have the best 17u team across the country. Well they could be near the top spot again when these Class of 2021 prospects get near graduation. Team Takeover currently has 8 players in the initial top 35 list. The future is always bright for one of the top aau programs in the country.
Team Thrill Is Intriguing
In AAU you never know who is going to stay with what program and that is always making it difficult to predict what the future holds for some players and programs. However, if Team Thrill is able to keep its starpower up until high school graduation time, the future looks good for them. Right now they have four prospects ranked in the top 11.
Where Are All The Centers?
As time goes on it will be interesting to see what big men we spot that will try to place their name in the 2021 rankings. Right now we only have one center ranked in the top 35 and he is in our number one spot.
Point Guards Everywhere
College programs will not have trouble finding point guards to recruit from the area with this 2021 class. 18 out of the 35 players we ranked are slotted at the point guard position. There are a lot of true floor generals in this class and as our rankings increase, only more point guards will join the conversation.
