Week 13 is near the halfway point and the Prep Hoops Indiana staff is already making their rounds across the state seeing some of the top prospects we have. I was able to get out to a game on Tuesday being able to get eyes on Westfield vs University. While it was a lopsided result in the end, it was still a game that featured many prospects that we enjoy watching over here. Here are some notes that I complied from a few guys on each team.

When you watch Westfield, the two guys that are going to catch your attention the quickest are both Haffner and Vandegriff however, when you look at the guys that do the "dirty work," [player_tooltip player_id='1989377' first='Brock' last='Detamore'] is at the top of that list. During Westfield's game vs University, Detamore was one of the more active guys I watched on both end of the floor. While is jumper was not always falling, Detamore was super aggressive with a strong first step in the lane and was making plays on the other end of the floor. Every team needs a hustle guy like Detamore on their team.

There is no way around it: [player_tooltip player_id='2414955' first='Luke' last='Vandegriff'] will always pass the eye test when you see him on the basketball. Not only does he pass the eye test due to his huge size and frame, he is starting to show an improved skillset, as well. This was my first chance to see the 6'10 big man since he gained a more prominent role as a starter and although he did not score a whole lot, he impacted the game as the best rebounder on the floor while also displaying great passing instincts at his size. As far as scoring fundamentals, his footwork is showing a lot of improvement in the post-up actions.

Without question, [player_tooltip player_id='1988138' first='Drew' last='Haffner'] was the best player on the floor and displayed one the best single player performances I have watched all season long. He finished with a game-high 32 points and there was no way University could stop him from doing what he wanted to do on the floor. Haffner showed long range and just was automatic nearly every time he let the ball fly. He should do very well at Abilene Christian next season.

As far as players with the most intriguing upside to them in the Westfield vs University game, that honor would easily go to [player_tooltip player_id='2887162' first='Joshua' last='Henderson']. While he started off a little slow in the first half of the game, his production really picked up in the second half where he would eventually lead the Trailblazers with 18 points. His length at 6'6 causes a lot of mismatch problems to start off with and then he adds the ability to knock down the tough jumpers along with it. He is still a little raw in some areas, but his physical tools already make him a guy to keep a close eye on the rest of this season and next year.

Besides the main cast of characters in this game, the one player that I came away super impressed with in the Westfield vs University game was senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2630646' first='Faisal' last='Mohamud']. To me, it felt like Mohamud set the tone super early for University being that energetic spark they needed on both ends of the floor. He was super active on the defensive side of the ball which would eventually lead him to getting some offense going. He is super fast and dynamic on the ball and plays with a constant high motor. He finished with 13 points.

University is one of the more deeper teams at the Class 2A level with a bunch of talented guys across the board. When it comes to the front court, the guy that is leading them down there is 2026 center [player_tooltip player_id='2403895' first='Cooper' last='Cammack']. While he did not have a huge scoring output in the game on Tuesday, it was his physicality on the floor that impressed me. He is a strongly built forward that plays aggressive and is so good at going after rebounds. Having a guy like Commack on a Class 2A roster is a major advantage.
