Charles Pride reclasses to 2019 and updates recruitment
2019 Charles Pride of NY Jayhawks had one of the best performances of the evening Friday night at the Adidas Gauntlet in D.C. The 6’4 shooting guard out of New York finished with 22 points, 2 assists and 8 rebounds. Pride brings a lot of toughness on the court and is a vocal leader for his team. He is an ultimate team player and prides himself in not being selfish. This year he led his high school team to an impressive undefeated season.
“My high school season went really well, we went 26-0, worked really hard in the regular season and ended up winning the state tournament.”
Pride currently holds offers from Siena, Rider, Weber State, Iona and Stony Brook. He touched base on the recruitment process with us, “The process is going well, this is my second year just focusing on basketball so I am going to do a post grad year next year so I will be in the class of 2019 now.”
Weber State was in Friday night for him and he broke down that program for us, “They have my favorite player but I have to take a visit there.”
He recently picked up an offer from Siena two weeks ago, “They were at my state semifinal and final game and the coach offered me after the semifinal game.”
Iona is a school that has been on him for a long time, “I picked up Iona two years ago and I visited with a teammate and good friend of mine, Frankie Policelli.”
Stony Brook is another school that offered him two years ago and have been on him hard, “I picked up Stony Brook two years ago and have visited it twice. One time with Frankie and another time last year.”
